Hypertension

Homeopathist- Aconitum: Aconitum is a useful homeopathic remedy particularly for patients who suffer from high blood pressure which occurs suddenly, and when the patient is constantly faced by a fear of dying. Nux Vomica: Nux Vomica is effective in lowering down high blood pressure arising due to overeating.

Yoga/meditation- When people with high blood pressure did yoga three times a week in sessions that also included breathing and relaxation exercises, they experienced average decreases of 11 mmHG more than control groups in systolic blood pressure and 6 mmHG more in diastolic blood pressure.

Nutritionist- to reach and mantain a healthy weight- Dietary approaches to modify blood pressure should be an important strategy of cardiovascular health promotion. There is extensive literature demonstrating that multiple individual dietary components and several dietary patterns affect blood pressure.

The strongest evidence for lowering blood pressure or preventing hypertension through dietary intervention includes adopting a dietary pattern such as the DASH diet or a Mediterranean diet, eating less saturated fat and total fat, getting plenty of potassium, limiting the amount of sodium in the diet, and limiting alcohol consumption. It is likely that other dietary factors, such as magnesium and fiber, may affect blood pressure, but the current evidence to support their recommendation is unsubstantiated.

Counseling- Counseling hypertensive patients requires insight, creativity, and ingenuity, because fixed messages will fall flat. Nevertheless, effective counseling covers 3 essential themes: improving health status with adherence, providing information on adverse effects and contraindications, and promoting healthy behaviors. Always begin by asking patients what prescribers told them previously, in order to save time and to identify information deficits quickly.
